Jason is a Canadian citizen who moved to the United States on an academic and athletic (hockey & rowing) scholarship at the Groton School in 2002. Jason continued with his rowing career at Trinity College in Connecticut where he graduated with his Bachelor of Arts and served as an assistant coach to the rowing team.

Jason then went onto enroll at Thurgood Marshall School of Law where he was an associate editor on Law Review, elected as Mr. Thurgood Marshall School of Law, taught Real Property for two years, and graduated Summa Cum Laude in the top 5% of his class.

During Jason's final year of law school, he worked in the school's prestigious Wills, Probate, and Guardianship Clinic where he assisted low income members of the community in planning their estates, representing them in probate matters, and representing incapacitated adults in guardianship hearings. Jason also worked as a law clerk in the TJ Davis Law Firm, which focused on criminal law.

After receiving his Law Degree (Juris Doctorate), Jason again received an academic scholarship and obtained his Masters of Law (LL.M.) at St. John’s University School of Law in New York .
